How is Chinese new year celebrated?
How is Chinese new year celebrated?
As you may know or not know Chinese new year is defined as an ancient and recognizable Chinese celebration that is celebrated around the world. This celebration starts with a new moon and end with a full moon. Furthermore, Chinese new year starts on the 16th of February on Friday and goes on for 15 day. Although, on the 15th day there is a special celebration called the Lantern festival. Did you know that Chinese people make really delicious food which has a amazing background to it?
Food in Chinese is important to their culture. In addition to all the food people eat like egg roll, noodles and shrimp it has a meaning to it. In my view of this, egg roll symbolises the wealth for the coming year and also represents happiness. Noodles is an essential meal to the Chinese culture. Did you know that noodles should not be cut because it represents health for a long life. Shrimps is a delicious dish which symbolises happiness to people. Not many people know that there are 12 animals that represent each year in Chinese new year.
These 12 animals which are the Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig. They all represent a year. This year is the year of the Dog and its element is earth. The dog represents loyalty and honesty. The year of the dog include 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018 and the next one will be in 12 years time. Meanwhile there a decorations of dogs all over the world. There is even decoration at the bottom of the Auckland Sky Tower. Did you know that on the last day of Chinese new year people like to celebrate their New year by having a lantern festival.
This lantern festival is celebrated on the 15th day of Chinese new year. They celebrate this festival by lighting lanterns which glow in the dark. The lantern festival gives good luck and long life to all people around the world. One reason why people celebrate lantern festival is to give respect and attention for the people who pass away in the Chinese culture. Children all around the world celebrate by holding a lantern each and having a parade on the streets with families and friends. This amazing event happens all around world and is well-known.
Finally I have come to an end. Chinese new year is a special and popular celebration. This is a time where families and friends gather together and celebrate this event. Chinese new year has been around for a long time and has been an amazing event. Did you know that the phra se Kung Hei Fat Choi means Happy new year? I believe that Chinese new year will last for a very long time and kids in the future will enjoy this entertaining celebration. Hung Hei Fat Choi everyone.

Remembering Our Summer Holiday
Remembering Our Summer Holiday
I heard screams of other people.
I felt scared zooming past people.
I felt nervous going up.
I saw roller coasters going by.
I wondered if I would get stuck.
I wondered if my family would come back.
