Why Do People Build Bridges

Why do we build bridges?

Bridges help us today all over the world for specific reasons. Bikes, cars and skateboards use bridges to make transport faster and easier. Bridges are built to get from point A across to point B faster and easier.

Unfortunately in the past the Tamaki bridge we know today did not exist in the 18th century. Thus crossing the river was peoples only choice to get to their destination. Taking punts or boats were the only common choices to get across faster and easier. Although sometimes there was a consequence to crossing. People would drown in the process of getting across. This made the river very dangerous to some people, it was so common that drowning was called the New Zealand disease.

In the 19th century in 1865 the first bridge was built and was the start of fast transport. Currently taking a bridge is fast transport for most of us. But again traveling back in time people had to pay to cross the Tamaki bridge in the 19th century. This also was the start for dry transport.

It’s easier to see the truth on why people build bridges now. The point was that it could save lives, faster transport and for boats to cross the river. There's much more than just the view from a bridge or just crossing it.

How Maui Brought Fire For The World

Today I had completed my Haiku on how Maui brought fire to the world.

I've worked collaboratively with Joshua W and Jericho.

If you are wondering about what a haiku is. 

well a haiku has 3 sentences. The top sentence have 5 syllables, the middle one have 7 syllables and the bottom one have 5 syllables again.

Unique Blog explanation

As strange as it might seem a blog is a website where people across the world share their learning and thoughts. Did you know that every blog looks different? Everyone’s blog is unique at our school because you can earn badges that show your achievement.

My blog is unique because my blog tells you what I have been learning at school. So far I have been blogging for 3 Years! My blog keeps growing and I now have 283 blog posts. Did you know that my blog has been viewed 9,659 times from the many places around the world (my global audience )?  If you don't  have a blog then it will be impossible for you to have such a large audience because the only person you can share your work with is your teacher.

My blog is also special because I get feedback and feed forward about my work. That means people are sharing their opinions and telling me what they liked and what I could change in a positive way. You can’t do that if you don't have a blog because no one can share their opinions, only your teacher and classmates.

Did you know that you can go back to see what you have been doing the last couple of years and see what work you have done? You can compare your work to see how it has changed over time. You can’t do that if your work is in a book because you might not still have your old books.

My blog is individual because it is a record of my learning since I was in year 4.The best part is that you can throw your books away but you can’t throw your blog away.

BLURBThis week Mrs Anderson’s reading group has been writing an explanation. I learnt how to properly write a explanation and how it is ordered. The things I already knew about an explanation, is that it is a type of writing and that it is needs to be in past tense order. I still need  to work on making sure that my writing makes  sense in the future and that I have used the correct spelling.

Golden Eagle

At home I drew my Golden Eagle.I had to get a image and try to copy what I saw on the image that I picked.Then we had to pick parts of the Eagle and write what they use it for.The hard part for me was to add the extra detail.

Conclusion for the wright brothers

The wright brothers were the first people to build the first plane to fly. Richard was the first to fly on a glider.Wilbur wright was born april 16 1867 and the other brother was born on august 19 1871.They worked with there dad at the newspaper shop to print them.Then they were successful from the newspaper so they built a bike shop.Then there mother died and they took down there bike shop down and started on building the first plane

The Wright brothers are famous aviators because they built the world's first ever flying aircraft. It took them 3 years from the 1900 to 1903.The wright brothers worked with there dad at a young age at the newspaper facility.Then They opened there own bike store to earn there own money, But then their mother died.They took down there bike store and decided to make the first aircrafts.

It was finally the day after yesterday. It was a very nice day outside. I had my shower and got changed, As I was cooking breakfast I had the feeling that me and my three dogs should go for a hike.

As I finished eating my  meal I had to feed my dogs too. As they started eating I went back to my room to get everything prepared.

I had packed a couple of snacks on the way for me and my dogs. I had also brang some fun activities. I also packed our swimming gear and my togs Just in case we run into a beautiful pool of water.

After a nice meal we have to brush our teeth. After brushing my teeth I took the dogs leashes. As I called for Grim,Domino and Chris my dogs they started rushing towards me.

As I put their leashes on we exited the room. We started to run down the stairs and into the hallway. I grabbed my keys to get back into my house and exited the house.

Immediately the dogs rushed out of the house but they were on their leash so they couldn't escape.

We entered the forest and found a peach tree and a cherry tree right in front of us. There were so many I got my extra bag  and grabbed a little bucket. I started picking some off the tree and put them in the bucket.

I had the perfect idea for today. I picked up my bucket full of fruits and gave one to the dogs. We started to walk again. As we were walking we were tired. We had got a blanket out of my bag and laid it down flat.

We sat down to have a rest.I got out my water bottle and the three dog bowls. I Poured some water in the dogs bowls and off they went drinking the fresh water.

As we were done I started to pack up. So off we went. Suddenly a shock to my eye I saw a fox. It was orange as a pumpkin ,  red as a rose  and as yellow as the sun.

The wind slowly brushed across my face. It felt relaxing. I started to walk towards the fox.  The fox started running when I tried to pet it.

I started to run after it. As I was running the I forgot my bags.Oh no I said to myself, and I have lost my to my bag.Luckily I still had my dogs with me.I tried to make my dogs to sniff the way back to where I left my stuff.No luck we where lost.
