Cook Island - Language Week

This week is Cook Island language week. We have celebrated the last two days learning about Cook Island. We have used our smart searching skills to find what type of food they eat, the language they speak, the places you can visit and the capital of Cook Island. We used a website to find the pronunciation of basic words. We then used the words to record a vocaroo that we have put on the presentation. 

HIIT Training

Today we had HIIT ( High Intense Interval Training ) This program is about raising our heart rate while we get puffed or in Maori pau te hau. During our session of HIIT we did 4 rotations of star jumps, mountain climbers, high knee sprints and split squat karate kick. Every exercise we did we had a 10 second break to regain our energy, and a 20 second exercise time.

Career Quest

Today we have done a survey to find the type of careers we would like to do in the future. For example I got Advertising, Sales and Marketing manager. We would then find three other people with the same career and find out some information about the job. Eg, the salary of the job. If I were to do this then I  would be able to make 75,00 to 300,000.

Chicago Sport Teams

Today we were creating a DLO about Chicago sports team. Our group worked collaboratively and communicated to complete this DLO. We used our smart searching skills to find some interesting facts about the Chicago sports team. There are  different types of teams that we looked up and try to find some facts. I learnt a lot from this activity and enjoyed it.

Light House For Sale - Activity ( NOT REAL )

This week we have been learning about the history of lighthouses, with Mr Johnston. Did you know that Cape Reinga is located at the tip of New Zealand. We have made a poster of a light house that is for sale. We could either make one or take a picture of one. We had to include the features of our light house. For example I have written, you get a perfect view of the ocean while easy access to food. 

I have decided to make a clip art of White Shoal Light.
