Mathematical Me

Me and Christopher have been using a piece of string to find out true or false facts. We had to compare the

measurement we got from one body part and another one to see if it was the same.

Age Problem

Today me and Affonso have been working on a DLO that explains how to solve this question. Our question was : Malcolm was 3 times the age of

Peter but was 4 years younger than Jack. Jack was 10 years older than craig, who was 4 times the age of Richard, Richard is 15. How old is everyone else? These were the answers we came up with.

Measuring Angles

Today for maths we have been learning to use a protractor to measure angles. We have been working on a worksheets to find the answer. This is a DLO on how we were able to solve the questions. 

Scale Drawing

This term for art we have been doing scale drawings. Before you draw your picture you need to find a photo that you want to draw then draw a grid over it, then do the same thing to your bigger paper but your grid is twice the size. To create this piece of art we used ratio's.

Fraction Execration

Today for maths we have been focusing on Dividing Fractions. Dividing Fractions is very simple, this is how you do it. First you have to get 2 fractions this is my fractions - 2/3 and 4/5

Now you have to do this 2/3 ÷ 4/5.

There are more than 1 ways to solve a division fraction. I am going to show you how to to do the... 

1. The cross multiplication.

For the cross multiplication you have to turn the ÷ symbol to the X symbol.

Task

Our task was to read and solve some question Ms Kirkpatrick gave us.

After we've solved it we had to make a DLO on one of the questions we did. I would collaboratively with 3 other students. We all had lots of fun making this DLO and solving question.

BEDMAS - Maths

In this task, we had to use BEDMAS to answer the questions. Every letter in BEDMAS has a meaning. The lettters are shorter for math symbols. We had to explain what order they are suppose to go in and how to use it. 

Stone Steps - Problem Solving

Today me and Lyric worked together on our math DLO on how much steps it would take to get to the end. There where 48 steps and there where 4 people they all where older than each other and taller than each other. They all took different amounts of steps Mira would take 1 step and Api would take 2 steps. We had to figure out how to solve the problem and write how you solved it.

World Of Maths

On Tuesday Ls2 went to world of maths we where put into groups with Ls1. Then we where introduced to Charles. He was the one that owned all of the activities that we had to do with our groups. We got told to choose an activity that we wanted to do. We worked as a team and collaborated when we really needed help. We tried to finger out how to beat the kind of roads. We had to start from point a and get to point f but we had to touch every road without touching it twice. This was also my favourite one because the maths was more like strategies.

Half Strategy

This is an example of what the half strategy is 2000, 1000, 500, 250, 125 & 62.5 The sequence ends when there is a decimal point. I think this strategy is good because its easy for me to half its also easy for me to half it into decimal numbers.

Maths Strategy To Solve 21 x 15

To solve this I first looked for the maths. The maths told me I needed to make 21 groups of 15. To find the answer I used my 10x. The numbers I had to look for were 21 and 15. We had to solve 21 x 15.

This is my problem solving on how much liters can one person save in one week just saving twenty liters of water.

Eako maths

Today I played Eako maths and played the fraction test.It tested how well I know my fractions.

BattleShips

Today me and Joshua w have been playing battleships.We played five games and see who would win. Unfortunately I lost but we had a good game.The hardest part was trying to get a strategy plan.

Today I had to ask everybody in Mr Ogilvie's maths group to pick a fizzy drink.Most people picked mountain dew and Fanta,Coke,Sprite and other had the same amount but sprite and other only had 1 and fanta and coke had the same as 6.

Rocketship

 The idea of the game is to have the numbers smallest to biggest. You roll the dice 15 times until you have numbers smallest to biggest from bottom to top. At the end if you have a correctful numbers you say blast off.Our task was to play this game with players in our group I played with Jeremiah and Taa'ni.Me and Jeremiah won the game.
